Journal Entry on our Texas Trip

Wednesday - November 29th, 2017

I started this prayer journal today because my heart is full of thanks from our trip to Texas to see Andy and "the girls".  Rachel is amazing and totally organized.  She is so loving and kind- a wonderful mother and wife.  Thank you Lord for the 5 years she has been a part of our life.  What a blessing.

Sassy little Miss Lyra is cute, adorable, smart and already knows "how to work a room."  She reminds me of her daddy at that age.  I love her cute smile, blonde hair and the fact she calls her daddy "Babe".

Lucy Mae is the happiest baby ever.  Her bright eyes and smile light up the room.  She is very "laid back" and not much makes her unhappy.  However, when she does cry, it breaks your heart and you instantly want to fix it.


Andy is the best daddy ever!  He is sensitive to Rachel's need "for a kid break and quick to take the girls outside for a walk.  He is a good provider and a hard worker.  We are especially glad that he is studying Scripture and actively involved in a good church.

Where did that blonde hair come from?

  Good Morning my sweetheart, 

I saw a facebook post that your Mommy wanted to know where all your beautiful blonde hair comes from. You are a very lucky girl because you have a beautiful Mommy and a very handsome Daddy.

Mommy has thick dark curly hair .  Your Daddy has brown hair too...so where did your beautiful blonde hair come from?  A grandparent or your parents?


You don't have to look very far because your Daddy was a blondie till he was in the third grade.  Your Diva also had blonde hair as a child.


So who wore it best?  I think you have the cuteness factor won.  However your Daddy could melt the hardest heart with a smile and silly grin. You also have the most gorgeous bows and big brown eyes.

Miss you and can hardly wait to laugh and play silly games, and dollies with you.  Poppa and I love you and pray for you every single day.

Mommy's first Mothers Day with 2 girls

What a beautiful gift to see on Mother's Day.  A picture of all my wonderful Texas girls together!  I love your big bows and your beautiful smile, Miss Lyra.  Poppa and I are so excited to come and see you as soon as Diva can travel.  Girl...we will have lots and lots of fun together.  Miss you to the moon and back again.

The Tremendous Three becomes the Fabulous Four

Dearest Lyra,

Congratulations big girl, you are officially the Big Sister now.  Your new baby Lucy Mae was born today on April 29, 2017 at 9:19 P.M. (Way after your bed time!)  She weighed 8 lbs and 15 oz and  is 21 inches long.  Your Mommy and Daddy are tired tonight.  I pray you will always be best friends.  She will need your help my darling girl.  We are so excited to come visit my two girls.

Your new house

Dear Lyra Jane,

If you happen to notice Mommy and Daddy packing lots of boxes lately it is because you are moving to a new house.  Diva and Poppa haven't seen it yet but I am sure it will be wonderful.  I loved that your Mommy and Daddy wrote their favorite Scripture on the floors in every room.  Poppa and I pray that you will always feel loved and protected in your new home.  We can hardly wait to see it.

A New Baby Bear?

Dear Lyra Jane,

This was the picture your Mommy and Daddy posted on Facebook about having a brother or sister for you to play with.  I know you will be a good big sister and will be a good helper to Mommy and Daddy.  Poppa and I are very excited for all of you! We can't wait to meet your new brother or sister and spend time playing with you, singing silly songs, and making you laugh.

Lyra, in Savannah, Georgia there is a famous statue of “The Waving Girl”.  She used to greet all the boats coming into port in Savannah.  You make an amazing waving girl. I bet everyone would wave back when they see your  wonderful smile.   Your Diva
