The Gender Reveal Party

Friday the 13th turned out to be a lucky day for all of us.   Your Mommy and Daddy had a gender reveal party for you with their friends and family that live in Fort Worth.

Naturally Diva, Poppa, Auntie Suzy and your boy cousins wanted to be there also so Auntie Suzy  set up the computers so we could all be a part of the celebration.

Wait till you meet Auntie Suzy.  She is a librarian and knows the best stories, songs and can create the coolest parties and gifts.  Auntie Suzy worked really hard to get everything just right so we could be a part of your celebration .  I think she must have called and texted your Daddy 10 times that day just to make sure we could be included in the big reveal.

Your Mommy went to the bakery and had them fill the doughnuts with pink or blue icing so everyone would know right away if you are a boy or a girl.  At the count of three everyone bit into the doughnut or tore it open to reveal pink icing.  Yes my love you are a lovely little girl.

Your little boy cousins (Oscar..6, Charlie..4, and Henry..2) love doughnuts so Auntie Suzy bought 6 pink doughnuts and 6 chocolate cream filled doughnuts so we could celebrate with everyone else.  Auntie Suzy said, the chocolate ones were for boys because boys like to play in the dirt.

Uncle Tim was away on a business trip but got home later that night and enjoyed a pink celebratory doughnut.  Poppa took the picture but he was also there.  Henry had already gone to bed but claimed the last pink doughnut in the morning.

Your little boy cousins were hoping you would be a boy as they have lots of big girl cousins already and they know that your Daddy has the coolest toys and lets them play with them.

Their disappointment was short lived especially since there were doughnuts.

You have a beautiful mother and a very handsome daddy so we know that you will be beautiful both inside and outside too.  We are so happy to be able to buy dolls and girly items.  Your cousin Emma will introduce you to "My Little Ponies" her favorites and will be so happy to have another girl to play with at family visits.

We love and pray for you daily.   Your Poppa and Diva

Our first night in Fort Worth

Dearest child of my heart....This picture was taken the first evening we knew that you would be joining our family.

Your Mommy and Daddy took us out to eat at a wonderful restaurant and we passed the Christmas tree in the middle of downtown Fort Worth.  What a wonderful night to remember.  The tree was a blazing with lights that lit up the darkness.  I felt all lit up inside knowing that you would be a part of our forever family. I'm the one with the biggest grin on my face.

Your Dad (my baby) surprised me with tickets to see the Hunger Games in a theater with recliner seats and a huge screen.  Diva loved every minute of it even though I had to get your Daddy to help me get out of it at the end of the picture. (Boy did he laugh at Diva trying to get out of the recliner!)  Diva and Poppa are country mice so don't get out to big cities often.  I felt like the queen mother.  What a fun time.

We are going to have Thanksgiving with your other set of grandparents on Thanksgiving Day.  Won't we have a lot to be thankful for?  Looking forward to the excitement of sharing a grandchild with your Mommy's parents.

Know that this was the best birthday ever.  Sleep well little one and grow strong and healthy.  We are all anxious to be a part of your life.

XOXO  Your Diva and Poppa

Hello Sweetheart

Hello Sweetheart....This is your Diva and Poppa  and we are so excited to know that you will be a member of our family.

We are your Daddy's Mom and Dad and we live in Virginia.  We had a big adventure coming to Texas to spend Thanksgiving with your Mommy and Daddy.  Your Daddy told us about your arrival in a very special way.

Your last name is Bennetch....we are descendents from French Huguenots that came to America looking for freedom to practice their religious beliefs.  Poppa gave your Daddy a red book filled with the history of all the people that we are related to.  Your Daddy sat us down and said, " I have a question about this book...look at the very back page."  On the back page was a little sprout that said, "A new branch of the family history is coming in July 2015"   We are thrilled to have a new grandchild.  Right now you have lots of boy cousins and only one girl cousin....Emma age 8.

Boy or Girl we promise to always love you and be your cheerleaders.  No one will love you more or pray more for you.  Poppa will build things with you and will tell you about how things are made.  Diva loves to bake, rock, sing and be silly.  I can tell you stories about your Daddy when he was a little boy and some of the funny things he did while he was growing up.

I can also tell you about your Auntie Suzy and Auntie Becky and all your cousins.  You need to know that we are all excited to see your sweet face and hold you in our arms.  For right now though we will just hold you in our hearts and pray for you.

XOXO   Your Poppa and Diva
